Neighbor From Hell: The Murder of 13-Year-Old Kelly Ann Tinyes
The 13-year-old disappeared after a mysterious phone call.

Kelly Ann Tinyes lived in Valley Stream, New York, with her parents, 8-year-old brother, Richard, and her faithful dog, Arbutus. The 13-year-old was a student at Woodmere Middle School.
On March 3, 1989, Kelly was babysitting Richard after school when the phone rang. He answered the call and the person on the other end of the line simply said, “It’s John. Get Kelly.” After a brief conversation, Kelly hung up the phone and told Richard she was going to her friend Nicole’s house four doors down for a few minutes. It was the last time he would see his sister alive.

After waiting for Kelly to return for some time, Richard knocked on Nicole’s door. To his surprise, she told him that Kelly wasn’t there and hadn’t planned to be. Three other neighbors told Richard they had seen his sister enter the Golub home a couple of doors away at 3:15 pm; the Golubs’ consisted of John and Elizabeth Golub and their two sons, 21-year-old Robert Golub and 14-year-old John Jay Golub.
